It has been 7 months since I wrote the last blog. How much has happened in the meantime. The whole cruising has come to a standstill. MSC Cruises is now the first to start the entire cruise journey again. Tui Cruises may have been earlier, but they only offer days at sea so far. You cannot go ashore in between. And then it's up to you. Are you coming or not? Do you dare? As I look at it, MSC Cruises has done everything to make these trips safe. (Now only the MSC Grandiosa and soon the MSC Magnifica) If you come from a high-risk country, you must already do a PCR test in your own country. The negative result must not be older than 72 hours when you check in. There you will again receive a Covid-antigen test, temperature measurement, questionnaire etc .... If these are all in order then you can go on the ship with a mouth mask.
Does this give you the ultimate holiday feeling?
A few months ago I would have said: No really not. But now this seems "the new normal" for the moment and I am at peace with it. In fact, I take everything for granted as long as I can board that ship. The moment you put your feet on board and then smell the house perfume. The feeling that you are really out of your own world and can enjoy it to the fullest. And even if that is with all security measures. I do not mind. Oh I really can't wait for that moment!
